Analysis

  • They did not account for refraction in their calculations. They used Dizzib’s calculator which does not account for refraction.
  • The Middle Island should be 35% the height of the West Island. The East Island should be 27% the height of the West Island. But in the scene, they are nowhere near the expected height. The bottom parts of the islands are clearly obscured by Earth’s curvature.
  • Everything is consistent with the spherical Earth model.
